Purpose:

General Guidelines:
1. Preparation:
- Ensure all emergency contact information is up-to-date. Parents/guardians must update this information online via the link provided under “Current Students.”
- All staff, coaches, and volunteers should familiarize themselves with this safety plan and emergency procedures.
2. In the event of a fight:
- Immediate Response:
- Separate the players involved to prevent further escalation.
- Ensure the safety of all players, coaches, and spectators.
- Notification:
- Inform the program manager and tournament director of the incident.
- Document the incident, noting the players involved, the cause, and any actions taken.
- Follow-Up:
- Review the incident with the involved players and their parents/guardians.
- Implement appropriate disciplinary actions as outlined in the tournament's code of conduct.
3. Injury Response:
- Minor Injuries:
- Administer first aid on-site.
- If necessary, direct the player to seek further medical attention.
- Notify the player's parents/guardians and document the incident.
- Serious Injuries:
- Contact 911 immediately for emergency medical assistance.
- Notify the program manager and tournament director.
- Ensure the player receives appropriate medical care until emergency personnel arrive.
- Inform the player's parents/guardians as soon as possible.
- Document the incident thoroughly, including the nature of the injury and the actions taken to respond.
4. Emergency Medical Situations:
- Immediate Action:
- Call 911 immediately.
- Ensure the injured player is attended to while waiting for emergency services.
- Notification:
- Inform the program manager and tournament director of the emergency.
- Contact the player's parents/guardians using the updated emergency contact information.
- Follow-Up:
- Provide a detailed incident report to the tournament director.
