COMMUNITY CODE OF CONDUCT Participation in an event, club team practice or game, tournament, camp or clinic operated or sponsored by Just Us Basketball (each, an “Event”) is a privilege that comes with responsibilities for parents, guardians, coaches, officials, referees, umpires, spectators, and players (collectively, “Members”). Just Us Basketball seeks to create and maintain a safe, fun sports and entertainment experience for all Members. Accordingly, Members must comply with the following Code of Conduct at Just Us Basketball Events: Members will maintain sporting conduct in the spirit of friendship and fair play, and will comply with the applicable rules of the sport, including any applicable governing body rules and requirements. Members will show courtesy and respect to other Members, Event personnel and facility staff members (collectively, “Event Workers”), and will refrain from shouting, harassing, or yelling at Members and Event Workers. Parents and spectators will not coach from the sideline or give instructions to players. All Members should enjoy the experience of attending an Event free from disruptive behavior. Members will not use derogatory, foul, abusive, sexist, racist, ableist, homophobic, xenophobic language or obscene gestures. Physical confrontations or threats thereof are strictly prohibited. There is zero tolerance for Members who engage in fighting, throwing objects, assaulting or threatening to harm others, or for parents/guardians/spectators who attempt to enter the court or field. Any Members engaging in such actions will be promptly removed from the Event. Any Member who violates this rule may be suspended from attending or participating in future Just Us Basketball Events for a period of time determined by Just Us Basketball in its sole discretion. The possession or use of a dangerous weapon on the property hosting an Event, including parking lots and surrounding areas, is strictly prohibited. “Dangerous weapons” include firearms, explosives, knives, and other weapons. A license to carry a weapon does not supersede this policy. Any Member who violates this rule will be promptly removed and suspended from attending or participating in future Just Us Basketball Events indefinitely. The consumption and possession of tobacco and/or vapor products is not permitted inside the Event facility. Intervention with a Member suspected of being impaired, intoxicated, or underage and under the influence will be managed promptly and safely. Members will be respectful of the Event, other Members, Event Workers, and the sport, and will refrain from posting negative comments on social media about the Event or other Members. Foul, obscene, or indecent messages on signs, clothing, or other publicly viewable material are not permitted. Members will comply with requests from Event Workers regarding operational and emergency response procedures. Members will comply with all (a) health and safety protocols, (b) applicable local, state, and federal laws, (c) rules of the league and/or sport governing body, and (d) Event facility rules, especially those on smoking, drugs, food/drink consumption, littering, and parking. If any portion of this Code of Conduct is violated, Just Us Basketball reserves the right to remove the Member from the Event and may suspend the Member from attending or participating for the remainder of the season or longer. PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT In addition to complying with the Just Us Basketball Community Code of Conduct, I agree to abide by the following rules: I recognize that my role is to support my child, their coaches, and the officials, and to lead by example with positive reinforcement. I understand that to optimize safety and minimize distractions, I will remain behind team benches during all Events and will not enter the court/field. I will lead by example and show courtesy and respect to all players, coaches, program directors, officials, and staff. I will not coach from the sideline or give tactical instructions to players during an Event. If I am concerned with a coaching decision/action, I will first speak with my child. If unresolved, I will wait 24 hours after the Event to contact the coach. I will raise any concerns about an Event (including officials, coaches, or misconduct) with the coach or program director after the Event. I will encourage my child to seek answers, act with confidence, and request critical feedback. I will communicate any late arrivals to Events with my child’s coach or program director as early as possible. PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT In addition to complying with the Just Us Basketball Community Code of Conduct, I agree to represent my club positively on and off the court and follow these rules: I will come to all Events mentally prepared to compete and grow, showing respect for the game, my coach, my team, and others. I will arrive 10–15 minutes early to prepare, not just arrive at the scheduled start time. If I am late, I will contact my coach. I will arrive ready and jog to the court. I will wear proper club attire and dress appropriately for travel and weather conditions. I will bring enough fluids to stay hydrated. I am responsible for bringing all required gear, including uniform pieces. If I have a concern, I will speak directly with my coach. I understand my behavior on social media reflects me, my team, and my club. I will post respectfully. I understand that any offensive, derogatory, exclusive, or inappropriate conduct may result in disciplinary action under the club’s zero-tolerance policy. AGREEMENT TO CODE OF CONDUCT By participating in any Just Us Basketball Event or program, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the Community Code of Conduct, the Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct (if applicable), and the Player Code of Conduct (if applicable). I understand that failure to follow these rules may result in disciplinary action, including removal from Events and/or suspension from future participation. * Please provide Participant's Name: Primary Parent/Guardian Name * First Name Last Name Email * By signing my name below, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the waiver. * Type your signature Date * MM DD YYYY Thank you!
