Youth Leadership Development

Older participants are encouraged to take on meaningful leadership roles within the program through peer mentoring, service activities, and participation in the Youth Leadership Council. This initiative provides youth with structured opportunities to develop communication, responsibility, and decision-making skills while serving as positive role models for younger athletes.

Youth leaders support team activities, assist coaches during practices and events, and help plan community service projects and program events. Through guided mentorship and leadership training, participants strengthen their confidence, build teamwork and problem-solving skills, and gain experience in civic engagement and community responsibility.

The Youth Leadership Development program prepares adolescents to become leaders on and off the court by fostering a sense of purpose, accountability, and pride in contributing to their community.

The Barkada Cultural Basketball Program strengthens Filipino-American and multicultural identity through basketball, cultural education, and family-centered community events. Youth participate in monthly tournaments alongside cultural workshops, heritage celebrations, and storytelling that honor tradition and shared experience. By combining sport with culture, the program builds pride, belonging, and cross-cultural connection while supporting the social and emotional well-being of youth ages 9–17.
