Player Expectations

As a valued member of our team, it is imperative to wholeheartedly embrace and uphold the collective goals and values that define our group. Dedication to hard work and a robust defensive strategy serves as the cornerstone of our pursuit of success. It is fundamental to demonstrate reverence for family, academics, the basketball program, opponents, and the sport itself. Recognize that your role extends beyond individual performance; endeavor to leave a lasting positive impact. Exert maximum effort, giving nothing less than your absolute best, and exhibit unwavering mental fortitude in all endeavors. Integrity should be paramount—always prioritize honesty and refrain from making excuses. Foster a supportive environment among teammates, treating each member with the same care and respect as family. Embrace opportunities for growth and commit to lifelong learning. Understand and embrace your designated role within the team, striving for excellence within your unique capacity. Maintain a positive outlook and see tasks through to completion. Prioritize physical wellness through regular exercise and balanced nutrition. Offer vocal encouragement to teammates and reserve constructive criticism for instances where it is both necessary and appropriate.

Parent Code of Conduct

As a responsible parent, I pledge to uphold good sportsmanship by showing positive support to all players, coaches, and officials during every game, practice, or team event. Unless instructed by the coach, I will refrain from entering the court during a game, scrimmage, or practice.

  • I will always respect the coaching staff and their decisions, recognizing that this is a competitive basketball environment.

  • I will do my best to ensure my child is present for all practices, training sessions, games, tournaments, and team activities.

  • Parents are not permitted to coach their child or other student-athletes from the sidelines or elsewhere during scrimmages, practices, or games.

  • Playing time is earned, not given, in competitive basketball, and the coach has the right to make decisions about allocating playing time.

  • I will not engage in verbal or physical abuse, confrontation, taunting, harassment, or disrespect towards any coach, student-athlete, opposing student-athlete or coach, or referee, at any time.

By agreeing electronically, you acknowledge that you have both read and understood all text presented to you as part of the Just Us Basketball AAU Team registration process.
